Cathodic protection

Cathodic protection

by sacrificial magnesium anodes

image du Cathodic protection

Reinforced protection of metal structures in the presence of stray currents and brackish or mineralised water

Avantages :

  • Durability: combined with structures protected by a coating applied in accordance with EN 858-1 standard after sandblasting SA2.5, cathodic protection guarantees the longevity of structures
  • High reactivity: the anodes are made of magnesium, a material chosen for its high reactivity, featuring the highest electrical potential (1.7 Volts) among the materials used for cathodic protection
  • Adaptability: cathodic protection can be provided by internal and/or external anodes
  • Ten-year warranty with insurance supplemented by an EPERS

Application :

Protection of metal structures in case of coating degradation for applications exposed to stray currents, brackish water, or mineralised groundwater

Conception :

  • Internal magnesium anodes weighing 10 kg each
  • External magnesium anodes, each weighing 7.7 kg, wrapped in a backfill of plaster, clay and sodium sulphate and protected by a cotton cover
  • External anodes connected to a 5 m long copper cable

Fonctionnement :

In case of coating degradation, the anodes supply a current with a constant dissolution rate, which is very beneficial for protecting the structure.

Options :

  • External anode control box - BOITANODEEXT
  • Reference anode for measuring the potential of external anodes - ANODEREF
  • External impressed current cathodic protection - ANODECOURANT
